Lark Traditional Arts is pleased to announce Jughandle Campout, October 16-18, 2026 at the Jug Handle Creek Farm and Nature Center in Caspar, CA on the Mendocino Coast.

Trade the summer rush for an October weekend of music, movement, and good company at Jug Handle Creek Farm and Nature Center on the stunning Mendocino Coast. It is absolutely breathtaking.

This is Lark-style community at its most relaxed: mostly acoustic, wonderfully spontaneous, and powered by the people who show up. Bring your instrument, your favorite traditions, or simply your curiosity. It’s BYOTAT—Bring Your Own Tunes And Traditions!

Here’s what’s in store:

- Volunteer-led workshops and skill-sharing

- Spontaneous jams around every corner

- Beach hikes and mushroom foraging

- 2 amazing dances with live bands and a wonderful community

Choose your own adventure when it comes to lodging: farmhouse rooms, rustic cabins (including some ADA-accessible options), tent camping, or your RV. Day passes are also available for local folks and nearby visitors.

Whether you’ve been part of Lark for decades or are joining us for the first time, Jug Handle is a chance to unplug, make music, meet wonderful people, and reconnect with what matters.

Space is limited, and will be assigned on a first-come/first-served basis. There are 9 private rooms and 4 shared rooms in the Farmhouse and cabins, with a few ADA accessible options. There are a few RV spaces (no hookups), and 10 tent spaces with access to water and porta-potties.

There will be a limited number of day-use passes available for Mendocino Coast locals, or those who would like to find lodging elsewhere in the area.

Community Dance ScHEDULE

In 2026 Jug Handle Campout will host 2 open to all community dances with live bands.

If you just want to attend one or both of the dances, and not campout, you can! So, all you Mendocino-area locals, come on and join the fun!

Tickets are $10 each.

SATURDAY NIGHT DANCE - 7pm start

Contras and Squares (called by Lea Smith)

SUNDAY NIGHT DANCE - 7pm start

English, French, and Breton dances (called by Adrienne Simpson).

CAMPING PRICES AND DETAILS

OVERNIGHT CAMPING PricE Per person (entire weekend):

$300 for an on-site premium cottage with private kitchen and bathroom. (Must be booked as double occupancy.)

$250 for an on-site private or double occupancy room

$200 for a bed in an on-site shared room

$150 for on-site tent or RV camping

Day-use Only PAsses (no camping - Lodging offsite)

$75- Day-Use only for ENTIRE WEEKEND (Fri, Sat, Sun)

$35 Day-Use only PER DAY (for either Saturday or Sunday)

Youth and Young Adult Pricing (up to 25 years old)

All Youth and Young Adult prices are 1/2 price of adult prices

Meals

Meals are not provided. Campers will need to bring their own food and cook for themselves using a camp stove or one of the shared kitchen spaces. Caspar is close to both Fort Bragg and Mendocino, so eating out will also be an option.

Chores

We will not have an official crew as we do at Lark Camp, so all campers are asked to pitch in. We ask that campers sign up for one chore shift during the weekend. Chores will include litter pickup, kitchen and bathroom cleaning, office/greeter hours, and camp setup and teardown. You will be able to sign up for your preferred chore on the registration form. It is easy, light work to help your community, so it's perfect!

T-Shirts

Our very own Alina Larson designed our 2026 T-shirt for the Campout. You can order yours from our Etsy store in the size and color you want! They're available in a classic crew neck and a short sleeve fitted v-neck. And be sure to grab one of Marina Zekely's classic Jug Handle Campout shirts as well.

COVID Policy

Because you will be exposed to a large group of people traveling from varied places, a COVID-19 vaccination is strongly recommended for everyone ages 6 months and older, per CDC guidelines. We ask that you take a rapid COVID test within 48 hours of camp. Even better is to take one on the morning of Friday, October 16, before you travel to camp. If you test positive, text or email us (707)-397-5275 or registration@larkcamp.org), to say you are not coming; we will refund your money if you need to cancel for COVID related reasons. Your care helps protect our community, some of whom are elderly and/or immunocompromised.
